80CrV2 is known as a solid Steel, with excelent cutting abilities and a high shock restistance. A propper heattreatment makes 80CrV2 the perfect choice for a tactical/miltary knife. To avoid corrosion and unintentional reflections the blade had been pakerdized.
A nice fact is, that the steel of the pommel is another one as used for the guard and also a little bit softer. If the pommel is used for striking or hammering the impacts are not damaging the micarta because they are transfered into the tang. The tang is pretty overdimenzioned so it will never cause a problem. By the way the grey and brown micarta was handmade for this project in the US. It costs more than excotic wood.
